Lessons: Nineteenth Century: 1865-1880
Elfreth's Alley in the 19th century was the home of immigrant families
who were getting a foothold in America. The lessons in this section
focus on those families, their living conditions and how the Alley
continued to be a place for artisans. There are also comparisons made
with a Adams Street in an immigrant neighborhood in Lowell,
Massachusetts.
